Italian  Week Riga

ISP 5: Italian Week

Date: 13-17 September 2021

Location: Riga

Description:
This ISP aimed to develop and test new language teachers’ mobility schemes to improve multi-language skills of opera students. Native Italian speakers and educated singers teachers and students from Parma visited Riga to teach in a workshop/masterclass setting and explored the possible use of the material, of various learning methods and of organizational models.

‏‏‎Result:
EOALAB partner Riga hosted the LTT activity C13-14 (“Italian Week”) between 13 and 17  September 2021, organized by WG3 and attended by 4 local teachers and 14 active students. Three teachers and four students from Parma came to Riga to work with the Lithuanian teachers and students. All the 14 students from Riga experimented together to deepen the study of Italian language in singing. Technically, this was a sort of second, further and enhanced step in comparison with the previews “Russian Week”. The focus was once again beyond the simple Language: it was on collective experimentation, active learning, student-centered approaches and combining levels in duets with italian singers, exchanging roles of teacher and student. Each day 3 different places (rooms) hosted continuously parallel working sessions in with each student could have the opportunity to choose different methodology and compositions. The week included two concerts, which involved students.  After the live experience, there were online  interviews in order to collect final feedback  with those participants (students and teachers)  that  attended both the experiences (Italian Week and Russian Week)
